This East Side landmark has its devotees, many of them drawn by the bar that dominates the rustic interior. Proprietors Stan and Lynn Spencer have made a point of providing fresh ingredients, in recent years hauling in produce from their farm in Westport. Appetizers range from eight assorted nachos and dips to Spanish gazpacho. In addition to Mexican-inspired specialties, like the sausage and veggie "Sidewinder" ($9.50), you can choose from a variety of traditional favorites: tacos, burritos, tostadas, etc. The fried ice cream ($3) is a pleasant way to end your meal.
